Christianity was beginning to form early in Britain.
Many Anglo-Saxons were pagans.

There wasn’t really an established text but they had codes defining social behavior that had different religious practices.

Paganism (polytheism) – They believed in different gods such as Thor, the god of thunder.
Caedmon was considered the first English religious poet.
Bede was the author of A History of the English Church and People.

5. Denominations
A monastery in Canterbury was established by St. Augustine in 597.

6. Religious Leaders
St. Augustine was the first archbishop of Canterbury.
Venerable Bede was one of the greatest monks in the monastery.
