Purpose At the end of this activity, you will be able to tell me what Enlightenment philosophers were concerned about in this world You will begin to make connections from your own experiences to those of the Enlightenment

Questions How should people be governed? Who rules who?
Do people respond better to fear and violence or peace and equity? What is the role of religion in government? What is the purpose of government in people’s lives?

General Instructions There are 9 quotes for you and your group to consider You will travel with your group by your side at all times. You should process each quote by yourself as well as enlisting the help of your team

Gallery walk instructions
At each quote: Individually, write down the philosopher, the quote and what you think about the quote – what does it mean? What questions do you have? Discuss with your group – what does the quote mean? Using the blank paper attached to the quote, write down a comment, a thought, a question, what you think it means, etc. Once you start traveling, you will notice other people’s comments – USE THEM and/or add on to their ideas/thoughts!
