Figure 1 Triple CGG counts by box and whisker plot for the entire patient population. The median value of triple CGG repeats for the whole study population is 30. The box area, representing 50% of all alleles, is defined by a range of 29–31 repeats. An additional 8% of alleles fall between the two horizontal bars. Thus, 58% of all alleles define the normal CGG repeat range of 26–32, and repeat counts ⩽25 and ⩾33, representing 42% of all investigated alleles, define abnormal outliers. Figure 2 Triple CGG counts by box and whisker plots for individual racial/ethnic group. Box and whisker plots for Caucasian, African and Asian women are shown independently. Median triple CGG counts and normal ranges were practically identical amongst the three groups, although prevalence of outliers differed. Asians were less likely to have abnormally low (⩽25) CGG counts in comparison to Caucasians (P=0.002) and women of African descent (P=0.03).
