What is an Ice Core? A core sample of ice that is removed from an ice sheet or glacier.

Radioactivity Snow in the south pole contains radiation from the Chernobyl meltdown. Air Pollution GASES trapped in ice cores spike after the Industrial Revolution.

Volcanic eruptions ash, dust and sulfur collect in the air causing a much colder climate Sea storminess Salt in the air is trapped in ice cores after big sea storms

What do ice cores tell us about the past?
Temperature and climate Gases trapped in ice cores show temperature fluctuations and climate change like ice ages and warmer periods. Global Warming Carbon dioxide levels increase leading to global temperatures also increasing.
