1 A note… Pixie allows you to make a slide show in their program. I would have done this, but in order for you to view it I needed to make the presentation in a different file format (hence PowerPoint). Also, the following slides include the example project I created and examples of possible student work. The first slide is the example I would display for my class to give them an idea of what I expected from them. The next two slides are samples of second graders’ work that might be turned in. Carlos’ represents what an English language learner might be capable of (fewer sentences and a more detailed drawing). At the other end of the spectrum is Courney’s project, lots of detail in her writing, but a less detailed drawing (representative of a gifted and talented student).
