GOES-13 GOES-13/O/P will have similar instruments to GOES-8-12, but will be on a different spacecraft bus. The new bus will allow improvements both to the navigation and registration, as well as the radiometrics. Plus, no spring and fall eclipse outages! Preliminary analysis has been done on with GOES-13 imager and sounder data, including image quality, noise and stray light issues. Generated a VISITview lesson on GOES-N. Posted on GOES-13 page: December Post Launch Test. Check-out will be similar to previous GOES. Will contribute to a NOAA Tech memo. GOES-N Imager and Sounder spectral response function and GOES-N Imager weighting function. Became GOES-13 in June, 2006. Position of the boom allows for colder detectors and hence less instrument noise
