GOES-13/O/P will have similar instruments to GOES-8-12, but will be on a different spacecraft bus. The new bus will allow improvements both to the navigation and registration, as well as the radiometrics. Plus, no spring and fall eclipse outages!
Preliminary analysis has been done on with GOES-13 imager and sounder data, including image quality, noise and stray light issues.
