Britain and the United States decided that the boundary between the two countries would be 49°N.
They only meant from the Rocky Mountains to Lake of the Woods.
Canada and Britain had captured American territory during the war, but the British gave the land back to the Americans, and gave nothing to the Canadians.

Canadians began to feel “disgruntled” with being under British control – the first whispers of independence could be heard.
Anti-American feelings became stronger in Canada.

The British pretended that the Aboriginal people had not helped in the war.
The truth was that without the Aboriginal people, we would not have won the war at all
After the war was over, Britain began treat the Aboriginal people badly
Broke the promises they made
Tried to assimilate them
Removed or limited their rights as citizens
Residential schools are one example of this effort

5. Practical Results
The government realized the need to build better roads.
The movement of troops and supplies during the war had been very difficult
No roads in some places
Very bad roads in most places (made of dirt, or logs)
