Skills needed for today:
Write the net ionic equations for: Na2CO3 (aq) + AlCl3 (aq) K (s) + NiCl2 (aq) What is the concentration of the nitrate ion in each solution described below: a. 2 M NaNO3 b. 3 M Mg(NO3)2 c. 4 M Al(NO3)3
2
Stoichiometry with Net Ionics:
Sometimes it is helpful to solve stoichiometry problems using the net ionic equation!
3
Stoichiometry with Net Ionics:
100 mL of 2 M barium chloride solution is mixed with 100 mL of a 2M aluminum sulfate solution and a precipitate is observed. How many moles of each ion remain in the solution after the reaction takes place? Create a model showing the relative amounts.

Stoichiometry with Net Ionics:
Your Challenge: 100 mL of 2 M Fe(NO3)3 is mixed with mL of 4 M NaOH and a precipitate is observed. As a group, create a model that shows the relative amounts of all ions present in the solution after the reaction takes place.
