ANSWERS At a crush (party) hosted by Lady Brandon. Sibyl Vane.
He threatens that he will kill ‘Prince Charming’ if he ever hurts his sister. He realizes that he was cruel to Sibyl and vows to apologize and make it up to her. A yellow book, given to him by Lord Henry. Basil wishes to talk about the accusations that have been made of Dorian, and he hopes that he will deny them. He pleads Dorian to beg God to forgive him for his sins. Dorian asks Alan Campbell to completely dispose of Basil's body by using chemicals and fire. He agrees because Dorian blackmailed him by threatening to ruin his reputation. “Cure the soul by means of the senses and the senses by means of the soul.” He doesn’t kill Dorian because he sees his youthful appearance and is deceived into thinking he couldn’t possibly be the man who broke his sister’s heart eighteen years ago. James Vane, Sibyl Vane’s sister. A young peasant girl with whom Dorian had planned to run away, however later left her while she was still ‘pure’ on the belief that it would be best for her. His soul was in the painting, and therefore by destroying the painting he killed himself and the picture restored its original form.
