2. Cold War Role Plays
For this activity I will make 6 groups of 4-5 students.
Each group will get one of the following scenerios.
The Cold War Begins
The Domino Effect and Containment
We Will Bury You!
The Cuban Missle Crisis
McCarthy and the Red Hunts
Easing the Cold War Tensions

3. Cold War Role Plays
Using the information provided and your own research, you will recreate a 3-5 minute role play of your group’s scenario.
In your presentation, be sure to address the discussion questions that the class will answer while watching (which will be distributed by the teacher).

4. Timing
20‐25 minutes to read information given about the topic and for internet research
20‐25 minutes to discuss the scenario and write scripts
10‐15 minutes to practice

5. Group Roles Groups self‐select a director and actors.
 The director will ensure that the group progresses in their work in a timely manner.
Directors are also responsible for ensuring their groups stay on track.

6. Group Roles
Actors are responsible for memorizing their respective lines/actions and for being prepared to present.
If necessary, teams can select a person to set up the scenario for the class before the actual role play begins, or have one actor serve as a narrator.
Everyone will contribute to researching* and writing the script for their role play.
