ACTION PLANS & implementation schedule Project goal/objective To further develop a cohesive education in science and engineering at the Mary Lyon School. STUDENT deliverables 1. School-Wide Processes - Demonstration of understanding in class discussions, investigations, labs, etc. 2. Engineering Capstone Course - Course projects - Capstone Legacy Project Project Definition 1. School-Wide Processes - Collaborative Coaching and Learning for Science (CCLS) with science teachers in grades 6 to 12 - Collaborate on developing a framework that encompasses the Scientific Method, Engineering Design Process, and Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning (CER) 2. Engineering Capstone Course - Design the course to reflect and apply past 3 years of science education to real world scenarios through projects using the Engineering Design Process - Develop Capstone project with guidelines and expectations as the final project in the course to be presented and defended Teacher deliverables 1. School-Wide Processes Visual representation of framework Connections to class activities 2. Engineering Capstone Course Course syllabus and pacing guide Project descriptions and materials Capstone project guidelines and expectations - Capstone project Evaluation Team Performance monitoring 1. School-Wide Processes - Did the CCLS Team meet on schedule? - Did the CCLS Team review, discuss, and revise the framework? Was the framework implemented in the classroom? 2. Engineering Capstone Course - Did students experience each step of the EDP through the projects? - Did students complete their Capstone Project? - Did students present and defend their work on the Capstone project to the Evaluation Team?
