A pattern, plan, representation, or description designed to show the structure or workings of an object, system, or concept.

2. Physical Models
Models that you can touch. Model airplanes, cars, volcanoes, and more!
Good to understand objects that are too small or too large to see completely.

3. Mathematical Models
Models made up of mathematical equations and data. Good for showing measurable data!

4. What model do I use?
Scientists use models to help guide their search for information. The right model must be chosen in order to learn from it.
Always consider, “what information am I trying to show” when choosing a type of model.
