What are some pieces of legislation that pertains to criminal law?

3. Criminal Code Criminal code is an act respecting criminal law.
According to the source which can be found at the bottom of the page the act includes;
(a) an Act of Parliament
(b) an Act of the legislature of the former Province of Canada
(c) an Act of the legislature of a province, and
(d) an Act or ordinance of the legislature of a province, territory or place in force at the time that province, territory or place became a province of Canada

Now what for..?
The criminal code includes provincial, federal and supreme jurisdictions.
Criminal code lays out the rules to follow and abide by in regards to arrest, court and sentencing.

5. Youth criminal justice act
The youth criminal justice act is an act meant to protect youths
It is meant to help them rehabilitate and guide them to the right path.
Many youths just have stress and the YCJA cares about helping these youths by disciplining and giving it all it takes to make a difference in their lives.

6. Charter Rights and Freedoms
The Charter Rights and Freedoms are essentially made up of 5 different parts meant to protect an Canadian citizen.
The 5 different parts are fundamental freedoms, democratic rights, mobility rights, legal rights and equality rights.

7. But what do these rights do?
1. Fundamental freedoms is meant to give people freedom of conscience, religion, freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, freedom of media, freedom of peaceful assembly and freedom of association.
2. Democratic rights are meant to give you rights to voice your opinion and a right to vote as long as your older than 18.
3. Mobility rights are meant to allow you to travel and have the freedom to leave and enter the country.
4. Legal rights are having the right to life, liberty and security as a person
5. Equality rights are the right for every individual to be equal and to be treated the same without discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability.

8. Traffic Act
The traffic act applies to criminal law and the criminal code when car incidents happen. However it must be related to a criminal offence. For example, drinking and driving or an accident that involves someone getting seriously injured or even killed.
