DRESS IN LAYERS: The weather changes every day and the classrooms in the school are different temperatures. Students should have sweatshirt or a light jacket for indoors. Students need a hat, gloves, and a winter jacket for recess. The wind is strong on the playground. Snow pants and boots will be needed when there is snow on the ground. 7

2nd Grade Information
ELEMENTARY CHRISTMAS CONCERT
The elementary Christmas Concert is on Monday, Dec. 3 at 7:00 pm in the Legacy gym. Students should wear nice clean clothes for the concert. The second graders are singing 4 songs: O Little Town of Bethlehem, Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town, O’Christmas, Christmas, and We Wish You a Merry Christmas.
Student should be in the classroom no later than 6:45. PARENTS-PLEASE TAKE YOUR CHILD’S COAT WITH YOU. THEY WILL BE DISMISSED FROM THE GYM AFTER THE PROGRAM.
AFTER THE CONCERT THE STUDENTS WILL GO STAND BY THEIR GINGERBREAD HOUSES. (They will be displayed on a table in the gym.) Parents are to meet their child after the concert by the gingerbread houses. Parents can then carry the gingerbread home with you and your child. Since parents will have their child’s coat, there will be no need to come back to the classroom after the concert. This just saves some extra steps.
MATCHBOX THEATER TRIP: Students K-4 will be traveling to Austin to see the Matchbox Theater’s production of Charlie Brown’s Christmas. We need to leave at 12:05 and return by 3:00. Students are asked to eat the school’s cold lunch that day or bring their own lunch. These grades will not be having a hot lunch that day. We will just eat our cold lunches in the classrooms.
CLASS CHRISTMAS PARTY: The class Christmas party will be on Thursday, Dec. 20 at 1:00. If you would like to help: plan the party/plan a game/bring treat bags/provide meat-cheese-crackers/or another type of food, please let the classroom teacher know.
AR TREATS: If you would like to donate AR treats that would be wonderful. Please be sure the treat are individually wrapped. Students receive a treat with a passing score of 80 or more. (We read and test whether we have treats or not.) Thank you!!
GINGERBREAD HOUSE decorating was a huge success. Thank you to everyone that came to help and to everyone for donating such wonderful supplies.
SUPPLIES NEEDED: We have one project left. WE will be making wreaths out of tinsel garland and ice cream pail lids. We have the lids and we have some garland. Please send in garland if possible. Thank you. As soon as we get enough we will make the wreaths.
DEC. 10-MONDAY …We will be making ornaments and art projects this day. Mrs. Sween and Diane Benson will be coming in to help us create our masterpieces.
