2 Idioms Idioms are expressions whose full meanings are lost when translated word-for-word into another language. EX: Cut it out! = stop it EX: what’s up? = what is happening?

3 gratias agere: to thank
Latin Idioms gratias agere: to thank The person whom you thank will be in the dative case. Agricola puellae gratias agit. The farmer thanks the girl.

4 gratiam habēre: to feel grateful

5 vitam agere: to live a life

6 bellum gerere: to wage war

7 castra ponere: to pitch camp

8 viam munire: to build a road

9 verba facere: to make a speech, speak

10 memoriā tenēre: to remember

11 consilium capere: to adopt a plan
