Presentation on theme: "eGOV – status September 2009"— Presentation transcript:

1 eGOV – status September 2009
Suggestions on the forthcoming MTP: Priority areas are somewhat non-specific Need for a broader integration of an ICT perspective within the network 1

2 Focus in the discussion in the first WG meeting 14 – 15 September
From exchanging best practices to studies of added value …but exchanging best practices is still of great value

3 Survey on eGovernment Strategic management of eGOV - similarities and differences between the member states A survey was distributed to all MS earlier this summer Percentage of answers – 81% (22 countries)

4 Preliminary general conclusions
Strategic management seem to be a fairly centralized function within the MS Difference in where the central management function is situated Ministry of Finance Ministry of Interior Special organization at the centre of government eGOV staff resources differ widely (from 1 to 400 full time equivalences) Economic crisis 2009 – affects eGOV work

5 Tentative eGOV themes within ”An administration serving the citizens”
New public service deliveries User centricity Social networks Citizen charters Shared services Measuring satisfaction of citizens Evaluations 10. What public administration flagships to expect in the years to come? What will be of interest for the EUPAN network to discuss? - further development of quality methods, and the use of them in public administrations in the MS - greening eGovernment as a way towards energy saving, slowing down the climate change, making our processes more effective - new methods of “flexicurity” – increased flexibility and increased security - sustainable pension systems - using procurement as a tool towards sustainable growth – increasing transparency, supporting environmentally sound production and services, competition and SME

6 Future of eGOV Already several European groups in this field (such as IDA BC) Need for a broader integration of eGOV-perspectives in other EUPAN working groups Possible alternatives: Launch of merged ”IPSG 2.0”? Transform into a learning team? Termination?
