Overview In April 2017, MEA launched two grant programs to ensure Maryland had a local workforce and supply chain entering the offshore wind industry (OSW). OSW Business Development Grant Program OSW Workforce Development Grant Program

Biz Development Fund Programs utilize monies from the Maryland Offshore Wind Business Development Fund (OSWBDF) Created via the Maryland Offshore Wind Energy Act of 2013 MEA budgeted $1 million for the OSWBDF in FY 2018

OSW Business Development Program
Provides grant funding to help offset upfront barrier costs in two key areas: – Market Entry Assistance ($200,000) – CAPEX & Facilities Upgrades ($400,000) Open to emerging business, including minority owned emerging business

OSW Workforce Development Program
Supports new or existing training centers that provide vocational training of technical skills and safety standards utilized by the offshore wind industry Program Budget - $400,000 Open to emerging business, including minority owned emerging business, non-profits, and State/Local governments. This includes community colleges.

Applications Business Program (Oversubscribed)
6 applicants requesting $1,334,642 1 self identified woman owned business applied 1 self identified minority owned business applied Workforce Program (Oversubscribed) 2 applicants requesting $429,705
