3 Reading: Monday 3rd Quarter Independent Book: - For this quarter, you must read a book that has been turned into a movie. The book must be age appropriate as well as the movie. You may find a group of no more than four friends to read the same book as you. Or, you can read the book independently. The book must be approved by me; so if you aren’t sure, ask before you get it. ****YOU MUST HAVE YOUR BOOK IN CLASS BY MONDAY, !

4 Reading: Tuesday 12-8 Have your textbook open to page 445
Have your I.J. open to the next page and number it 2. Fill in your table of contents for yesterday and today. What do you think makes a book good? Describe a book that you thought was interesting. What made it that way? When you finish, read silently an independent reading book.

5 Reading: Tuesday 12-8 Based on what we’ve read so far today, what do you predict will happen in the story? (Answer on page 2 in your I.J. under bell work) When you finish, work on the review of terms worksheet as far as you can at this point.

6 Reading: Wednesday 12-9 Have your book open to where we left off yesterday in reading (450). Have your Review of Terms Worksheet out on your desk as well. Fill in your agenda for this week if you haven’t already. The Review of Terms Worksheet is due tomorrow at the end of class. The Book to Movie Parent agreement form is due Friday. Your actual book is due in class on Monday. Read an independent reading book.

7 Reading: Thursday 12-10 Have your textbook turned to page 459 with your worksheet that will be due today. You will have time to work on it, so put it to the side. Read your independent reading book.

8 Reading: Friday 1-11 I.J. page 3
Have your Parent Signature Form out on your desk during independent reading time. If you didn’t turn in your Review of Terms Worksheet yesterday, turn it in at THE HUB with a late slip stapled to it. Have your I.J. updated and turned to page 3. Read Silently.

9 AUTHOR’S PURPOSE I.J. 3 Copy a P.I.E. chart like the one on the board.
With your table, come up with as many examples of each as you can think of that fit in each of the sections. We will practice identifying what an author’s purpose is in this practice worksheet. The packet is not due until TUESDAY.
