Okay, so we are saving money by preventing a war and by not having to pay for soldiers homes. Now let’s get some money to pay off that war debt.

Stamp Act This law required colonists to pay a tax on paper and printed goods. A tax stamp had to be placed on many items and documents including playing cards, newspapers and calendars. The stamp indicated that tax was paid. England placed a tax on printed paper items. Tax collectors could enter and search your house!

Say What! Wait! You added a tax! You can search MY house!
And if I don't pay taxes.... You will put me in jail without a trial.
