Fig. 1 PEFRs for patients greater than 6 years old (18 in the prednisone group and 13 in the methylprednisolone group). Initial is at time of enrollment, midpoint is a time point during hospitalization, and final is before discharge. Difference between last available and initial PEFR was determined for each subject and compared between groups. An effect of treatment over time was significant (P < .001), but the effect between the groups was not (P = .2).
