Factors include genetics and hormones
When an individual reaches puberty they are capable of reproducing

3. HORMONES Definition-to exite or set in motion
Work with nervous system to stimulate bodily activities (fight or flight)
Responsible for changes in bone development, reproductive organs, and secondary sex characteristics
Regulate the body’s metabolism

4. PITUITARY GLAND
Definition-gland that controls much of the endocrine system/starts the onset of puberty
Located at the base of the brain
Releases growth hormone
Also secretes two other gonadotropic hormones, LH and FSH
Which help develop the gonads of the male/female
