From Hebrew Word, “bara” which means “to create” Genesis 1:1 begins with the assumption that God has existed from the very beginning. The Bible begins with a faith claim! In this first chapter the name “Elohim” is used for God. God creates EX NIHILO, or “out of nothing”

How Does God Create? From His voice. - “Let there be light and there was light!” - before there was nothing, just darkness - The earth was formless and void. There was no form to the earth - God speaks and creation come into existence

How Does god Create? 2. With the Trinity. Three in One: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. - Father is the Author of Creation. He speaks, creation comes into existence - Son is the Agent of Creation, he is the means through which the Father creates. Colossians 1:16 Paul recognizes the vital role the Son plays in Creation. -The Holy Spirit, the Sustainer of Creation., Genesis 1:2 says that the Spirit was hovering over the face of the waters.

With Purpose - Each day of creation has a corresponding day. it can be outlined as the first three days as “the forming” and the final three days as “the filling” Forming Filling Day 1 = Light Day 4 = Sun/Moon/Stars Day 2 = Waters/Skies Day 5 = Fish/Fowl Day 3 = Land/Plants Day 6 = Animals/Man
