For you it is a busy week too. Each day after school instead of putting your clothes away you make a pile on your floor on Monday. Each day you through your clothes on top of the Pile. 5. The Law of Superposition
The law of superposition states that as sediment lays down, and as the layers of the earth are formed rock layers below are older than rock layers above them.
This is true for fossils found in rock layers. Fossils found in layers below are of animals that are older, or existed before other fossils found above them
