History of EAAA 2000 - 2018 Launched in 2000
Service began flying in January 2001, with Anglia One covering Norfolk. The service then expanded to Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. In 2007, the arrival of Anglia Two and extension into Bedfordshire Now fly 7 days a week, 365 days a year Over 23,000 missions since foundation Began flying fully night capable EC 135 T2 helicopter in May 2013 Introduction of H145 at Cambridge base in May 2015 and at Norwich in February 2016 First air ambulance to fly to unlit sites in the hours of darkness

Why are we needed? We bring advanced medical care to the scene
We can reach any location in East Anglia within 25 minutes Not all patients are air lifted for a variety of reasons, but we often go with them to hospital We transport patients to the most appropriate hospital for their needs

The region we serve Four counties; Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Norfolk and Bedfordshire during day. At night; we also cover Hertfordshire, Essex, Greater London. 5,000+ square miles Approx. 3.5 million population

How we are called out East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST)
Critical Care Desk in Chelmsford They monitor the incoming call and assess the situation Designated line to either our Norwich or Cambridge base Aim to be airborne within three minutes Other emergency services who are on scene can request

Rapid Response Vehicles
Two RRVs Used at times when it is the quickest way to reach a patient, and also when the helicopter cannot fly They carry the same equipment as the helicopters. New RRVs Land Rover Discovery Sport

Meet our crew… Pilots Rosh Jaypalan, Pilot Our pilots are highly skilled and often from a military background Supplied by Babcock Pilots on Anglia 1 operate a 12 hour shift, whilst pilots for Anglia 2 operate two 10 hour shifts

Team of paid doctors They are specialists in pre-hospital emergency care including trauma and anaesthetics Enables us to provide on scene surgery if necessary Our critical-care paramedics (CCPs) are highly skilled, having undertaken further specialist training

We are 100% Charity We rely solely on public donations and community fundraising We receive no direct Government funding In 2018/19 we will need to raise at least £13 million to develop and deliver our life-saving service
