Argument Brainstorm Talk with a partner. List some important things to keep in mind when writing an argument.

#68 Synthesis Tips 12/16 It is an argument! Use what you already know.
15 minutes reading period, then about 40 to write. Have at least 3 clear reasons for your position. Use the sources to support your position. You can also use MORE TAPERS than just the sources to develop your ideas more fully. Use at least 3 of the provided sources. DO NOT report on the sources. The 3 sources are not your 3 reasons.

1. Annotate during the reading period. Opposing sources can be good too. 2. Annotate the prompt. Be sure you know what is being asked. Answer the Prompt. 3. Consider your initial thoughts. What is your first view before reading the sources? 4. Plan and structure like an argument.
