Mrs. Wrenn Room 220 Week of: May 14, 2018
May 16: Living History Reports Due May 18: Concert, Penncrest, 9:00 am May 23: Living History Posters and Costume Due May 24: Living History Museum 2:15 pm May 25: Field Day We will work on our living history speeches this week in reading. For homework this week, we will go back to reading fiction. As we start our books, we are thinking about story elements such as character and setting. Ask your child, “What kind of a person is the main character? Are there any secondary characters that play a role in the story?” As we continue to work on word problems, we are looking for the hidden question and using estimation to check our work. When we see the words “equally” or “equal groups” we know to multiply or divide. Ask your child, “What words cue you to add or subtract?” We hope to hear ”peep, peep” in our class today or tomorrow! Our chicks should be hatching and will need a few hours to dry in the incubator before moving to their cozy cardboard box. This temporary home needs to be kept warm. We will also be giving our chicks fresh food and water. Ask your child to tell you what species of chicken we have in our classroom! We will continue to draft our fairy tales. We are moving on to the second and third scenes of our stories, and are using narration and descriptive language. We are revising as we go. Check my webpage for information on the Living History Project. No jot for homework this week.
