Reading: Reading Workshop Launch
We will learn how to use our classroom library, keep track of our thoughts while reading, and practice choosing “just right” books. We will also practice building our reading stamina.
Writing
Work on your All About Me Poster
Choose a writing prompt from the August writing calendar (homework binder)
Math
Go to the class webpage, click on “fun links”, then play “Shark Place Value”
Math: Place Value
We will work on 3-digit place value. We will learn how to read and write numbers to 1,000 using standard form, base ten form, word form, and expanded form.
Spelling
Read for 20 minutes
Watch the S.O.S video on the class blog under the “homework/parent resources” tab and practice with the word “said”
Writing: Writing Workshop Launch
We will learn how Writing Workshop flows in our class. We will begin learning the steps of the narrative writing process.
Reading
Read 20 minutes
Bring favorite book to school on Tuesday
Finish your All About Me Poster
Science/SS/Health: Nutrition
We will learn about healthy food choices from each of the five food groups. We will also learn how these food choices affect our bodies, energy, teeth, weight, and mood.
