Some tips to get you started…
o Use literature that is current… The more recent the better. o Be wary of websites, especially .com sites and blogs! o That doesn’t mean they’re all bad, though. Look to local government sites for data and ideas. Check out websites of local organizations that address your target problem to find ideas and references. o Understand a text’s bias... What’s the author’s purpose or POV? o Do a background check on authors... Who are they? What are their credentials? o No author? With the exception of government data, don’t use it! o Where is the text published? Is it peer reviewed? o Utilize a text’s bibliography!
