To understand the principle of operation, constructional details and operational characteristics of DC generators. 2 To understand the principle and characteristics of DC motors. To introduce starting and speed control methods of DC motors. 3 To learn the principle of operation of transformers. Develop the equivalent circuit and evaluate the performance of transformers. 4 To learn the principle of operation and constructional details of three phase induction motor. Study the torque – slip characteristics and starting methods of induction motor. 5 To learn the principle of operation and constructional details of synchronous machines. 6 To study the principle of operation of different types of Electrical Measuring instruments, Measurement of voltage, current and Power.
