Your are invited to the First Grade Project Based Learning Night.
What: Farmers Market Type Event
When: December 16th, 2014
Time: 6:00-7:00 pm
Where: Primary School Hallways
Students will need to arrive at 5:45 to get their store set-up.
We ask parents to bring their child to the front doors, then patiently wait outside while the students have a few minutes to get ready.
Students have been busy making toys for this event and have learned many skills, (no toy will be priced over $10, with each team having made 3 different toys to choose from). Please bring small bills, ($10 or less), students will be responsible to give your change back to you, but may need your honest assistance. They have also created the store fronts, including the store name, hours of operation, and display cases. They have done their own marketing and made you an advertisement ad that will be passed out as you arrive at the event.
The first grade teachers would like to make this as real of an experience as possible, however we do not want the students to be handling real money. So as you enter the event we will exchange your real money for students play money, (the advertisements you receive while waiting on the doors to open will give you a good idea of how much play money you will need to exchange). All proceeds from this event will go to the classrooms for future Project Based Learning events in the Spring.
