1 Warm-Up #8 Solve for y: 2y – x = 4 5 – y = 6x y – 2x = 6

2 Homework 𝑦<2𝑥+3 2𝑦>𝑥−8 𝑦−3≤4𝑥−5 4𝑥≥𝑦−1
4 inequalities with Two Variables problems 𝑦<2𝑥+3 2𝑦>𝑥−8 𝑦−3≤4𝑥−5 4𝑥≥𝑦−1

3 Lesson 4.12 Inequalities With Two Variables

4 Solving Linear Inequalities
To graph an inequalities equation, put it into Slope-Intercept Form, y = mx + b

5 Graph the line using the y-intercept & slope.
If the inequality is < or >, make the lines dotted. If the inequality is < or >, make the lines solid.

6 Example 3x + 4y > - 4 THINK: Dotted line or Solid line?
Put in Slope-Intercept Form: y = mx+b THINK: Dotted line or Solid line?

7 EXAMPLE 1 Graph y≥ 3 2 𝑥+1

8 EXAMPLE 2 Graph −2𝑥−𝑦>0

9 Example 3: Graph 3𝑥 −2𝑦>6 Example 4: Graph 𝑦>3

10 EXAMPLE 3 Graph 3𝑥 −2𝑦>6

11 EXAMPLE 4 Graph 𝑦>3
