Find the Errors: At resting potential, the neuron is negatively charged. Negative proteins are found inside the neuron. The NA+-K+ pump brings in and out two potassium ions and 3 sodium ions. (2 errors) The Na+-K+ pump takes 3 sodiums out of the cell and 2 potassiums into the cell. When the inside of the neuron becomes less negative, more sodium ions will enter the cell. The neuron will experience fewer action potentials if there is not enough stimulus.

What were the errors? At resting potential, the inside of the neuron is negatively charged. Negatively charged proteins are found inside the neuron. The NA+-K+ pump brings in and out two potassium ions and 3 sodium ions. (2 errors) – The Na+-K+ pump; unclear which ion goes in and which goes out The Na+-K+ pump takes 3 sodium ions into the cell and 2 potassium ions out of the cell. When the inside of the neuron becomes less negative, more sodium ions will enter the cell. – Sodium ions enter = cause, not effect The neuron will experience fewer action potentials if there is not enough stimulus. – NO action potential if there is not enough stimulus (can’t reach threshold)
