Slope When would you see something with a measurable slope?
What do you do in your life that would have a slope that you can measure? If you start thinking about these questions, it will become very clear that slope is all around us!

So what is Slope? Slope – A form of measurement that tells us how steep something is. We measure slope of a line by taking the Rise over the Run. Rise- How far up or down I go on the coordinate plane. Run- How far left or right I go on the coordinate plane.

Rise over Run Think of the slope formula in a practical way:
If you look at the Y, it looks like someone “rising” up in the morning, letting out that good stretch. If you look at the X, it looks like someone is “running” from the side.

Activity Within your group, decide on three things in life that have a slope to them. You cannot use the things that have already been given to you as examples. Draw them out and find the slope of the designed objects.
