3. Work
Now we are going to start reading! Just the Act 1 scene 1, and 2 not that bad, only about 15 pages. Here are your character/comparing charts. Let's get some volunteers!! Today we have:
Roderigo
Iago
Brabantio
Othello
Cassio
Officer
The rest of you will have your character chart to fill along with. Also, if you are doing the guidebook start taking your notes. This is Act 1 scene 1 and 2 so you will have a start on your guidebook.

4. Closing We are going to break up into groups of three or four.
I will assign each group a character from the first scene (Iago, Roderigo, or Brabantio)
In each group, the students will discuss:
1. What is revealed about their respective character (character traits, background info, etc.)
2. What action is this character involved in? What are the consequences of these actions or events?
3. Important lines from the character (textual evidence to back up their claims).
4. Prediction of how this character will be/what this character will do in the next act? By the end?
5. Any other information about this character.
