Scope Aim of presentation:
Present the client the Final Playground design And Present its detailed description
4
Client statement “The Special Care Centre is seeking proposals from experienced engineering companies for the design of a playground for our new campus. The playground should be suitable for children with varying disabilities and the various structures within the playground must be safe, affordable and reliable.”

Build a suitable playground for disabled & able- bodied children.
Special Care Centre Location: Al Bahia City-Abu Dhabi Income: Donations Majority: Autism and down syndrome. Target: Build a suitable playground for disabled & able- bodied children.
7
Client statement-Revised
“It is concluded that the main purpose of this project is to design a reliable playground that develops and enhances children’s social, physical and educational skills. The Special Care centre has a majority of children suffering from Autism and Down syndrome, age range from 5-12 years. Thus, playing facilities should be structures within the playground must be safe, affordable, reliable and accessible for all children, able- bodied and disabled children. The playground structure should not exceed the specified dimensions (30mx30m).

Problem Definition – objectives tree
9
Functions and requirements
Enjoyable: Provides entertainment for children Attracts child’s attention Safe: Protects children from unperceived hazards Does not harm the environment Playing facilities provide stability
10
Functions and requirements contd.
Affordable: Tolerate the weight of children and wheelchair. Resists humidity / rust Reliable: Suitable for all children (disabled and able-bodied children)

Problem definition Morph chart-Extract Objective : Affordable
Functions Means (1) (2) (3) (4) Tolerant the weight of the children and the wheel chair. Use very high density grade plastic Stands Minimize the rust and maintenance Rubber covered the metal tools Use grade plastic Grade plastic is long lasting material High strength plastic Get an extract of one of the objectives
