Scoring the Set ü(tic) the number in the upper right corner of Service Rounds box for each correct server when they CONTACT the ball for service If it is the wrong server- DO NOT ü the number in the service round box. Only enter the Exit Score (Total Team Score). Do not notify the 2nd Referee until after the wrong server has contacted the ball DO NOT ü the Service Rounds box if the server fails to serve in the alotted time and a loss of rally is issued without contact of the ball DO NOT ü the Service Rounds box if a Server tosses a ball and lets it drop. There is no warning whistle; when 30 seconds are over, the second referee blows the whistle to end the time out and both teams must immediately return to the court. Inform the second referee when a team has used their second time out It is not necessary to inform the referees how many time outs each team has used other then the final time out, unless they request that information During time outs, check that the visual score is correct Check that the number of substitutions matches the total team subs and that the Score at Change entries are complete The Assistant Scorekeeper should note which Libero is on or off the floor. For JO Girls only, the Libero is allowed to serve

The libero may serve in only one position in the lineup, irrespective of which player is in the line-up at that service rotation. There is no Substitution or anything else recorded on the scoresheet. The Libero tracking sheet records a normal libero replacement for the returning player followed by an immediate replacement for the server. In this case, the Libero does not have to sit out for one completed rally.

When the Libero leaves the player whose # is slashed before the L must replace the Libero. Cougars’ #12 replaces the Libero. Slash the L and write 12. The Libero Must sit out one completed Rally before re-entering the set. The Libero Tracker should check that the Libero DOES NOT play the front row or serve (except JO Girls in IREVA this year, who are allowed to serve in one position). 15 A 2 4 6c 8 10 12 L 12

The Libero Tracker must also track regular substitutions. Cougars’ #18 replaces #2. Slash the 2 and write 18. Remember that the Libero must always be replaced by the player whose number is listed before the L. A regular substitution can be made right away. 15 A 2 4 6c 8 10 12 18 L 12

LIBERO Serving The Libero Tracker must also track if the Libero serves (IREVA JO Girls only). Libero replaces Cougars’ #18. Slash the 18 and write L. When Cougars’ #4 rotates into service, #18 comes back on the court to replace the Libero, the Libero takes the ball and moves into the server position, and #4 leaves the court, replaced by the Libero. Slash the L and write 18. Then slash #4 and write L. Finally, place a triangle around roman numeral II to indicate the the Libero is serving from position II. 15 A 2 4 6c 8 10 12 18 L 18 L L 12

Using a Deciding Set Score Sheet for THE FIRST 8 OR 13 POINTS
For the first 8 points of a deciding set in a match the Time-Outs and subs for the team starting on the far left will also be recorded on the far right If the deciding set sheet is used for a 1 set playoff to 25 points the teams will switch sides at 13 points instead of 8 so you will use the left side until point 13

THE FOUR ACTIONS FOR A SUBSTITUTION Slash the exiting player #, enter the sub player # Write the score at the time of the substitution (Sub team score first) in the Score at Change section Slash the team sub Show the ready signal

Scorekeeping Tips If a Replay is awarded, the scorekeeper records nothing on the score sheet If A Mind Change occurs, (1st referee reverses a call) erase or white out any changes to the score sheet If you have a mistake on the Pen sections and have no white out tape you may X out the mistake and write the correct information immediately following the X

Scorekeeping Tips Make sure at the beginning of each service that you have awarded the loss of rally point. NO TWO EXIT SCORES for one team should be the same, they will have earned a loss of rally point Owls’ # 1 serves their first serve into the net Should the Exit Score be 19? No, the last exit score was 19 Side-out point 20 has been missed. What happened (e.g.,Exceptional Sub, ...) Player number or staff designation If it is an individual sanction, indicate the player # or a letter designation for the coaching staff If it is an exceptional sub (player # for injured #) Team designation (A or B) Set # Score at the time, listing score of the team involved in the remarks first
