L2A Trainer Application
Provide evidence of meeting criteria
Agree development priorities with National Training Manager
National Training Manager (NTM) allocates mentor
Level 1 Course Observation
Positive evaluation of one day of a Level 1 course by a registered Level 2/3 trainer (this could be part of the peer observation process)
Trainer Interview
Interview tests candidate’s training P4C capabilities, educational and philosophical knowledge and engagement with SAPERE’s development
Interviewers: 2 x Level 2 trainers and 1 x trustee in attendance
Course Programme
Mentored development of Level 2A course programme, preparation of materials in consultation with the NTM and other Level 2 trainers who may be observed
Mentored L2A Course
4 days (2 x courses) co-training with L2 trainer allocated by National Training Manager, £250 planning & review fee, payable by mentee for both mentored courses on a SAPERE commissioned 2A course. In the case of an independent 2A, mentoring fees £500 per day for co-trainer, incl, £250 for planning and review (payable out of delegate fees)
Confirm as L2A trainer subject to assessor approval
Conditions or further development requirements may be applied to approval
Observation
Observation of SAPERE agreed L2A course plus reflections
Decision on candidate’s readiness to become a trainer
