1
Wet deposition trends in Sweden during 1955 – 2011
Martin Ferm, Lennart Granat, Gunilla Pihl-Karlsson, Per Erik Karlsson and Karin Hansen. 6-8 May 2013
2
It is not difficult to collect rain water
To do it in a quantitative way is, however, harder than we thought
3
To minimize sampling of soil dust,
The sampler is placed at a comfortable height above the ground. The precipitation gauge will affect the wind field, and thereby the trajectory of the meteor. wind gravity & friction
4
Dry deposition occurs all the time,
especially when it is raining. To avoid dry deposition to the funnel or gauge during dry weather, a wet-only collector can be used. They are, however, not always aerodynamically designed.
5
Bird droppings contains a lot of NH4+ and causes high pH values
7
“Snow caps” or snowed under
8
Sampler type has varied over time and with the net work
9
Wind corrected and interpolated precipitation amounts in 4 x 4 km grids with a daily resolution between 1961 and 2011.

346 sites have been used between 1955 and 2011.
