4 Some Things Cannot Be Directly Measured
Ex. Love. How could you measure love? Brand Loyalty Q_1: Please state your agreement: "It is important that I wear designer label clothing rather than store brand labels? Q_2: Please state your agreement: "Designer clothes are one of the most important ways I have of expressing myself“ Q_3: Please state your agreement with the statement: "The quality of the merchandise I buy is more important than the brand label" 1 = strongly disagree 2 = disagree 3 = Somewhat disagree 4 = Neither Agree nor disagree 5 = Somewhat agree 6 = Agree 7 = Strongly agree

5 Scenario Based on the data collected from the students in this statistics course at Auburn University, make a composite score of the three Apparel questions to find a measure of brand loyalty.

6 Your Turn!!!  See if there is any data that needs to be reversed scored. Once all the variables are going in the same direction, make a composite score. Run descriptive statistics on the composite variable and make sure it is normally distributed.

7 Measures 0 = strongly disagree 1 = disagree 2 = Somewhat disagree
Q_1: Please state your agreement with the statement: "The most important part of dining out are the conversations I have with my dining party“ Q_2: Please state your agreement with the statement: "The least important part of dining out is the quality of the meal“ Q_3: Please state your agreement with the statement: "The most important part of dining out is the speed at which the meal comes to the table." 0 = strongly disagree 1 = disagree 2 = Somewhat disagree 3 = Neither Agree nor disagree 4 = Somewhat agree 5 = Agree 6 = Strongly agree
