Multimodal Transportation Fund
Overview The Multimodal Transportation Fund provides grants to encourage economic development and ensure that a safe and reliable system of transportation is available to the residents of the commonwealth. Applications will be received between March 1st and July 31st of each year. All applications and all required supplemental information must be electronically submitted by close of business on July 31st for hopeful consideration at the November CFA board meeting. The required, complete two (2) hard copies of the application must be postmarked no later than July 31st.

Uses Funds may be used for the development, rehabilitation and enhancement of transportation assets to existing communities, streetscape, lighting, sidewalk enhancement, pedestrian safety, connectivity of transportation assets and transit-oriented development.

Funding Grants are available for projects with a total cost of $100,000 or more. Grants shall not exceed $3,000,000 for any project. Link

Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program (GTRP)
Overview Act 13 of 2012 establishes the Marcellus Legacy Fund and allocates funds to the Commonwealth Financing Authority (the “Authority”) for planning, acquisition, development, rehabilitation and repair of greenways, recreational trails, open space, parks and beautification projects using the Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program (GTRP).

Uses Projects which involve development, rehabilitation and improvements to public parks, recreation areas, greenways, trails and river conservation. Recreation areas – Tennis Courts, Track, Press Box for Football Field

Funding Grants shall not exceed $250,000 for any project. A 15% match of the total project cost is required. Link: program-gtrp/

GTRP – Playground Reimbursement to CFA Update
Since the playground was installed prior to announcement of the Grant, the reimbursement of $85,000 was not released to Community Foundation of Alleghenies (CFA) to-date. Dr. Kamal Gella, on behalf of CFA, is working with the State Representatives to solve the issue related to reimbursement of $85,000 to CFA.
