2. EUSBSR in brief
EUSBSR is the first macro-regional strategy in Europe (2009)
Aim: joint problem-solving  reinforce cooperation to tackle common challenges and promote balanced development
Save the Sea
Connect the region
Increase prosperity
Accompanied by an Action Plan describing common challenges and concrete actions to be taken to address them
Health is one of the Policy Areas included in the Action Plan, and the NDPHS is the PA Health Coordinator

increase the levels of environmental sustainability, prosperity, accessibility and attractiveness and safety and security

4. NDPHS in brief
NDPHS is a cooperative effort of 9 governments, the European Commission and 8 international organisations
The mission: to promote the sustainable development of the Northern Dimension area by improving peoples’ health and social well-being
Reduce the spread of major communicable diseases and prevent life-style related non-communicable diseases
Enhance peoples’ levels of social well-being and promote socially rewarding lifestyles
The Partnership’s work is guided by the NDPHS Strategy 2020 and its accompanying Action Plan

6. Contributing to the implementation of regionally agreed goals and objectives
To ensure successful implementation of regionally agreed objectives, funding mechanisms have been aligned with political priorities
To receive political and financial support, project developers need to make sure that their efforts contribute to the implementation of politically agreed regional goals
A project can become a EUSBSR Health Flagship label, if:
It has a high marco-regional impact
It contributes to meeting the objectives, indicators and targets of the EUSBSR
It’s related to the implementation of one or more PA Health actions

Supporting in problem identification and partner search
Facilitating project development and fund-raising (Letters of support for (i) Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme and (ii) EUSBSR Seed Money Facility)

Supporting in conveying project results to the policy level
