Faith Hope Love Wisdom Courage Kindness

7 Receive (today’s Bible reading)
God said to Solomon, “Since this is your heart’s desire and you have not asked for wealth, possessions or honour, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king, therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. And I will also give you wealth, possessions and honour, such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have.” 2 Chronicles, Chapter 1, verse 11 New International Version (NIV)

8 Explore The virtue of wisdom
The Bible is passionate about both wisdom-seeking and the importance of teaching and learning. Wisdom has at its base knowledge, but also moves beyond what exams can assess. For discussion: What does ‘wisdom’ mean to you?

9 Your thoughts please As you explore the virtue of wisdom during worship this week, we would like to have your ‘words of wisdom’ to use in a special worship the school is leading at a head teachers conference in October. What words of wisdom would you give our world leaders (these must be sensible and with the aim of making God’s world an even better place)? Please can tutors Mr Kings with your tutee’s most imaginative or impressive words of wisdom and they may well be used at the conference. Thank you.

10 Respond (this week’s prayer)
Heavenly Father, Be with us Lord, as on our journey through life, we learn, gain knowledge and experience, think and search for the truth. May we never stop striving for wisdom in all that we do you, to your glory Lord. Amen

11 Go Let us bless the Lord Thanks be to God
