Neuroblastomas can overexpress Parc, which sequesters p53 within the cytoplasm, possibly by tethering p53 to the cytoskeleton. In addition to facilitating p53 degradation, Mdm2 also fosters p53 cytoplasmic localization by enhancing its export from the nucleus. Interference with Parc expression through RNAi results in nuclear translocation of p53 and apoptosis. Cell  , 1-2DOI: ( /S (02) )
