2 Subject-Linking Verb-Predicate Adjective
Ex: Timmy is fast. Linking Verb Subject Predicate Adjective

3 Subject-Linking Verb- Predicate Noun
Ex: Timmy is a dog. Linking Verb Subject Predicate Noun

4 Subject-Action Verb-Direct Object
Ex: Timmy ate a bone. Action Verb Subject Direct Object

5 Subject-Action Verb-Indirect Object-Direct Object
Ex: Greg made Sierra a flower. Action Verb Subject Indirect Direct Object Object

6 The Four Irregular Sentences
Question Command Inverted Here/There

7 Question Ex: Are you going to the park today?
*Subject is after or between the verb.

8 Command Ex: Go sit in the corner! *Subject is an understood you

9 Inverted Sentence (Yoda)
Ex: From the mall the girl arrived. *Subject is usually at the end

10 Here/There Sentence Ex: Here is the dog. There it is! *Here/There are NEVER subjects.

11 Complete Sentence Subject- Verb-Compliment
A complete sentence has a subject, verb and compliment.

12 Complete Predicate The bird | is a friendly animal in our neighborhood. Complete predicate

13 Fragments and Run-Ons Fragment- Part of a sentence. Missing a subject or predicate. Ex: Ate the Banana Run On- Two sentences put together Ex: Sally ate junk food Bill worked out.
