2. Prior to the Movie Beginning
Miles, Kobb, and Mal are all working on a scientific experiment which allows people to create and live in their dreams as well as infiltrate other people’s dreams.
Losing themselves in their dreams—Mal thinks the real world is the dream world and kills herself, leaving a note blaming Kobb for her death.
Kobb has to leave his kids and the US behind and is not allowed to return to the country.

3. Act 1 of the Movie
Kobb, Arthur, and Nash are being interviewed by Saito to see if they are up to what he wants them to do. Mal is still in the dreams.
They fail. Nash the architect of the dream messes up. But Saito still wants to hire Kobb.

4. Act 2 of the Movie
Saito wants his competition corporation to break up—by having Kobb go into Fischer’s dreams and convince him that after his father dies, Fischer should break up his corporation. [Inception]
Saito promises to clear Kobb of
all charges about Mal’s death.
Kobb agrees and has to put a team
together.

5. Act 3 of Movie
Kobb goes to his father, Miles, and asks for him to give him the best student to
become the architect of the dreams. Miles
gives him Ariadne
Arthur helps Kobb train Ariadne.
