2 Objective Setting Approach
With an increased emphasis on personal contribution, there is need to continue defining expectations for performance and objectives in FY18/19. Our approach to Objective Setting is designed to ensure: We have balanced objectives All colleagues will have one personal objective All colleagues will have an objectives they will work on with their teams Colleagues only have a maximum of 5 objectives annually Objectives (3+1+1): all objectives need to be stretching and outcome focused. 3 business related objectives 1 personal objective - value or behaviour based (ideally linked to collaboration) 1 team linked objective - functional deliverable to support revenue growth Performance will be assessed by the delivery of these 5 objectives (what) and the values (how) that have been demonstrated throughout the year.

3 What do we mean by collaboration?
Collaboration is working with colleagues other than those in your immediate team who have different experiences and expertise to help accomplish a common goal. Collaboration allows colleagues to learn from each other, solve problems, take a bigger picture view and break down barriers. Collaboration benefits the business because taking a more holistic view rather than a single functional perspective alone, increases efficiency and performance. How to practice Collaboration: Collaboration is not: Get involved with someone else’s project (outside of your current role/team) to help you understand how Collaboration works (routines, tools and processes) Work on your network – building relationships with people outside of your immediate area, utilise people you know in the enabling functions (they have a wider network across the organisation) Don’t stretch yourself too thin, be selective about the projects you get involved in/initiate A leadership style Teamwork Cooperation/coordination An opportunity to promote your own agenda
