THE TRICKIEST TRICKSTER
Written by Simone Bragg
2
Once upon a time in Mali of East Africa
There lived a tribe of frogs and a single spider named Issa.
3
Issa Issa was the trickiest trickster of all of West Africa. He had survived an attack on his people by the frogs a couple years back. His sneaky methods is what kept him alive being that he was prey to everyone.
4
Attitude He would play sneaky little tricks on the frogs to have them turn against each other or neighboring animals, so that in the end the spider would be the hero.
5
The Idea One day while sitting at his favorite pond, a beautiful pond sitting under the setting sun and filled with vibrant green lily pads, decided to act out his grandest trick yet. He would play a horrible trick on the frogs’ enemies, alligators that lived on the east of the pond, and blame the frogs for it.
6
THe Bait He would play a horrible trick on the frogs’ enemies, alligators that lived on the east of the pond, and blame the frogs for it. He would trick a baby alligator into leaving its territory and have it murdered by the hyenas, which were the frogs’ allies.
7
On the Move He sat there and smiled his most evil smile and thought “I will finally have revenge for the family the frogs took from me.” The spider shot it sticky white to trees as he jumped around to make it to alligator’s territory.
8
In Action When there he saw that there was a baby gator unattended, he thought that his luck couldn't have been better. “Hey there little guy” the frog stated. The alligator looked and said “Hey there little little guy.” “So I found this cool spot over near the western jungle were theirs unlimited snake for your liking” the little gator got so excited since this was his favorite food. ”Wow okay thanks I'll be sure to go when my parents get back, since I can't leave this spot before they get back. “Well you see their little guy the snakes won't be there for long so it’s now or never. So the alligator decided to go, the spider jumped on his back and preceded to the west.
9
An Error Occurs As the spider spent time with the alligator he grew fond of the baby and felt bad for setting him up. This really got the frog to thinking, revenge was not his, “just because he harmed your goat, do not go out and kill his bull. He decided to let his vendetta go and just leave the frogs home and make it on his own.
10
The Damage Little did the spider know was the damage was done. While gone the alligators parents came back and a rhino told them he saw the spider from the frogs’ territory steal the baby gator. The alligators and its comrades the rhinos went to the west and murdered all frogs in sight.
11
Another Trick Eventually the frog partied ways with the spider after he used a trick to let the gator go and still seem innocent.
12
The Aftermath The alligator went home to his family and the spider went home to a murdered family once again.
