Speaker needs to engage the audience. The informative speech should be simplistic, meaning easy enough to follow. Make appropriate language choices.

Identify the organizational pattern (chapter 13) that best relates to your topic and the purpose of your speech. Build a speech that is well developed with solid facts rather than minute facts.

Informative Speech: Methods
Narration: a story or an account of an event told orally. Description: is an image that is created verbally. Concrete terms – descriptions that are detailed and specific. Abstract terms – are descriptions that are vague or general. Definition: clarifying terms that may be unclear to audience members. Synonyms Antonyms Comparisons Etymology Demonstration: is often an effective method for explaining a point or idea to an audience
