Communication – the act of exchanging information Feedback – the extent of to which managers let workers know how they are performing. Non-verbal (Cues) Communication - pieces of information acquired by observing rather than listening to other people. Networking – talking to people who may offer you job leads, contacts in your field, or other information.

Active listening - absorbing what another person is saying and responding to the person’s concerns. Reports – documents that provide a lot of information on a particular topic Conflict – the struggle between people with opposing needs, wishes, or demands Personal Business Letter – a formal or semi-formal written communication that is sent from an individual to a business or company

Business Letter – a formal written communication used to communicate with customers and suppliers (people outside of the company) Letterhead – preprinted paper that contains a company’s logo and contact information Memo – an informal written message used to communicate with people within the same company. Risks – something that is likely to increase the chances that a particular event will occur
