3 Our Device Purpose: The purpose of this device is to deploy a whoopee cushion through the transferring of energy. Talk about cutting wood building project a little.

4 Please watch as we demonstrate our gadget!
Oh, the Demonstration!! Please watch as we demonstrate our gadget!

5 Summary of Energy Conversions
1st Stage: Elastic Energy to Kinetic

6 Stage 2: Ball to Car Potential Energy to Kinetic Energy
Marble pushes car just enough to get it over the stop Potential Energy to Kinetic Energy

7 Stage 3: Bowling Ball to End of Ramp.
Potential Energy to Kinetic Energy. Car hits bowling ball just enough to cause it to start down the ramp.

8 Stage 4: Bowling Ball drop to Whoopee Cushion.
Kinetic Energy + Potential Energy to Energy needed to depress whoopee cushion. (Broken into two steps for calculation.)

9 Conclusions As expected, energy was lost through friction
We were successful in building our device We learned the virtues of teamwork We would have spent more time building the device so it would be more aesthetically pleasing.
